Smolbound

Smolbound is a bright and colorful game based off of the original IP known as Smolverse. The core idea of the game is a blend of cozy sandbox, colony management, and strategic exploration, while bringing in a twist of whacky farming-based combat. The player lives on the back of a Sky Whale which travels throughout an endless void across floating islands in the galaxy where they meet unique characters and gain more villagers on their journey. The project began as a title under the crypto-game publishing company known as Treasure. As the main point of the art team, I was in charge of establishing the initial art direction and visual tone, directly contributing to securing $6M in project funding. Throughout the project, core duties involved setting the initial unity-art pipeline alongside the engineering team, leading a small team of artists to maintain visually consistency through art and UI, while maintaining and directing all other visual needs for the studio.
